Peter MacMahon

Born in 1958 in Dublin, Ireland, Peter MacMahon immigrated to Canada in 1978 where his fascination with art making found its muse in the wildlife and livestock of the prairies.

Since then, MacMahon has been sculpting prairie animals in plaster, clay, stone and, most recently, bronze and aluminum. A multimedia artist who also paints and draws, MacMahon regularly works with different materials at one time, often combining them in mixed media works.

MacMahon first studied art making in Saskatchewan with artist and teacher Lorna Russell, and later at the University of Saskatchewan.

Peter MacMahon currently lives in Saskatoon.
